Construct An Indoor Carpet Field

• Gauging:

The surface quality of the carpet directly affects the quality of the flooring and the football pitch quality, as undulations (fluctuations) on the surface of the soccer pitch will adversely affect the comfort of the game. For this reason, when the upper layer filler is being applied, 3m long gauge is applied to prevent undulation on the surface of the soccer pitch.

• Compressing

After forming a smooth surface on the astro turf, the pitch is compressed with a power cylinder, which should maximum 1 ton in weight, without corrupting the smoothness of the soccer pitch. Maximum care should be taken to avoid surface collapses and fluctuations during this process. Possible fluctuations can be fixed with the help of material reinforcement and gauging.

• Wire Fence Construction:

With the completion of the football pitch surface, it is now necessary to separate the carpet area with a wire fence. To do this, there are many different options such as Panel Fence, Steel Wire Mesh or PVC Coated Galvanized Wire Mesh. Because of its economic structure and its ease of application and maintenance, galvanized wire is the most commonly used solution. The production of wire fence is made with galvanized and PVC coated wire in the form of 3.5mm thickness and 5cm x 5cm intraocular distance. Wall grass also can be used in this purpose.

• Establishment of the lighting system:

There are two systems used for Artificial turf carpet pitch lighting. The first one is lighting with metal halide lighting systems, and the other is lighting with LED lighting systems which are known for saving energy nowadays. • Artificial turf flooring

• Laying of felt and artificial grass carpet on the surface of the pitch

First, a felt is installed on the pitch surface according to the customer’s preference. The synthetic turf rolls, which are specially produced according to the field measurements, are laid on the felt to cover the entire surface of the pitch.

• Cutting and fixating the joints of rolls

The edges of the Synthetic Turf Rolls are cut properly to be laid on the surface of the pitch and made ready to be joined together. Later on, adhesive is applied on the joints and two rolls are glued together leaving no gap in between. In this way, all rolls of the pitch are glued to each other to establish a single piece.

• Placing Game Lines on the Carpet Pitch

Following the gluing the joints of turf rolls, all lines that are determined in accordance with the site project are placed onto the artificial turf carpets.

• Installing Carpet Pitch Filler

Following the gluing of joints of turf rolls and assembling of the lines, the carpet pitch is now ready to be filled. In accordance with the technical specifications of the preferred Synthetic Turf, a homogeneous sand fill and then an SBR fill are distributed on the surface of the pitch. It is important to note here that the filling should be distributed homogeneously throughout the field. As INTEGRAL, we always use full automatic filler machine option for Our projects.

• Brushing the Surface of the Turf Carpet Field and Preparing for the Game:

The filling surface is brushed in a regular and continuous manner and delivered to the customer ready for use.

• Installing the nets of Pitch Ceiling and Goal Posts:
• According to the preferences of INTEGRAL customers, a protective net is drawn over the pitch and behind the goal posts. Top nets are made of parachute yarn number 66 and 72 with 2 x 12 or 15 x 15 spacing. Back-goal nets are made of yarns numbered 144 and 180 with a spacing of 12 x 12 or 15 x 15.

HOW TO CONSTRUCT AN INDOOR CARPET FIELD

•  Pitch Application:

The location of  Artificial grass is determined by a Map Engineer or Topographer. Boundary corner piles are hammered. This ensures that Indoor Artificial turf is correctly positioned within the land and that the surrounding beam walls are perpendicular to each other. • Excavation :

The surface of the field is levelled  with the help of construction machines  according to the elevation determined during field application in order to havea good surface for indoor carpet field. The amount of excavation to be made for the requested elevation is determined during the application. Then the drainage channels in the field are excavated.

• Beam (Boundary Wall) Production:

A concrete wall is built around the site in accordance with the corner piles and elevation specified during application. This wall is named as Boundary Beam. The beam forms a party wall and cuts off the connection of the field with outside and at the same time it acts as a concrete wall supporting the surrounding fences of artificial turf pitch.

• Drainage:

In rainy weather, the rain falling on the surface of the field should be drained outside the carpet area and rain accumulation should be prevented. This can be achieved by installing a drainage system in the area. During the excavation, drainage pipes with special holes are placed in the drainage channels placed along the site, and the rain falling on the surface of the field is rapidly transported to the edges of the field. The rainwater is discharged from the drainage points on the concrete or by connecting main holes to the rainwater network.

• Filling:

A large crushed stone filling, which is called as number 3-4 (30-45mm aggregate intervals) is installed on the field surface, especially firstly on the drainage channels. Subsequently, a fine crushed stone filler called number 1-2 (7-15mm aggregate intervals) is installed on this coarse crushed stone layer. This filling is completed in such a way that the surface of the field is 5-6 cm below the top elevation of the beam.
